Everyone was invited to join in saying goodbye to Lamar one last time. He was at his home away from home the Maloe Melo.
We said our farewells in person during his Wake - drank a Jack and bought Lamar one - or maybe even a double, as he wouldn't be back in blblblbl minutes this time.
Later that day we held a tribute concert where his old band members, together with musician friends, accompanied Lamar on stage for the last time before he joined the big gig in the sky.
We all lined a procession as Lamar 'left the building' and offered our final blessings. The night was closed out with a jam session.
Thank you to the many fine people who came to lend their musical talent, to play, sing or simply dance and say farewell to King Bee. It was a room full of music and love; a great tribute to a great man.
